The Obelisk is contemporary and proud, standing 2 meters tall (once installed). The rigid stainless steel outer frame contains random internal weathered steel latticework. The weathered steel contrasts with the silver stainless and provides perfect support for climbers.
In the dormant season when most climbers have lost their foliage and flowers these obelisks rise from herbaceous and deciduous planting like mini skyscrapers, this is when they really come into their own providing striking winter interest. So with an Obelisk once the climbers adorning it have finished flowering the show goes on.

Installation is straightforward, simply push or dig the four 0.5m legs into the ground. Typically, there is no need to cement the legs in situ, which can also impair planting.
We recommend choosing climbers which will not completely cover the obelisk, for the simple reason it’s nice to see at least part of it and retain the rectangular shape.
Due to their formal shape, we feel the Obelisk is best placed in straight lines to enhance a formal scheme or create a contrast through informal curved borders. In either, they will provide all year structure and a strong sense of rhythm.
We can make these to bespoke sizes and even swap the mild steel and stainless elements to give a weathered steel frame with a stainless internal lattice.

2 metres tall (installed). Once the 50cm long legs are buried, there is 2m of obelisk above ground. The total height is 2.5m.
Being made from solid steel, there is little to degrade no matter what the weather does. Expect it to look great for more than 40 years.
Simply bury the legs in the ground, they can be hammered into soft ground but typically will need to be dug in. We don’t advise concreting them in, as this can make it hard to plant next to them and makes moving them more tricky. Make sure you use a spirit level to ensure they are upright.
Simply a combination of stainless steel and mild steel. The mild steel will weather to brown, but the stainless steel will remain silver and shiny. The contrast between the two materials is what makes our creations truly unique.
